FLOATER TYPE ARTICLES MADE WITH A SYNTHOL CH 777, SYNTHOL WP AND SYNCOTAN TL FATLIQUOR COMBINATION
For the production of light-weight ultra soft leathers, Smit & Zoon introduced a new fatliquor SYNTHOL CH 777.
SYNTHOL CH 777 can be used as the main fatliquor for garment, upholstery and floater-type articles. Recently Ali Celik and Hilaire Beerens of the Smit&zoon Leather Service Center developed an interesting series of floater articles by using the successful combination of SYNTHOL CH 777, SYNTHOL WP and SYNCOTAN TL.
Soft, fluffy and intense dyed leathers were obtained, having a pleasant light-weight feel showing a pronounced uniform milling pebble. It can be seen that the size of the milling pebble changes in accordance with the difference in thickness of the hides that were used; 0.9-1.0 mm (orange/brown), 1.5-1.7 mm (black) and 1.8-2.0 mm (blue), respectively.
